The EFHR lawyer became the Laureate Award of Human Rights

On the occasion of the Century of the Independence of Lithuania, the Embassy of Sweden in Lithuania together with the Embassy of Lithuania in Sweden, the Lithuanian Association of Local Governments and the Ombudsman’s service of the equal opportunities funded the Human Rights Award, to honour and motivate a person fighting for human rights, equality and non-discrimination.

We are proud to announce, that on February 14, 2019, Ewelina Dobrowolska, an EFHR lawyer, became the Laureate Award of Human Rights. E.Dobrowolska effectively represents in the Lithuanian courts persons applying for the original spelling of names and surnames, in matters of sex change, defending the rights of national minorities and preparing alternative reports to international human rights institutions. The lawyer, as a laureate award, will be able to take advantage of an expert trip to Sweden, to selected institutions and non-governmental organizations.

We would like to congratulate a lawyer, who cooperates with the European Foundation of Human Rights (EFHR) and we believe, that such recognition will create more opportunities for joint fight for human rights and non-discrimination both in Lithuania, and abroad.
