New intern at the EFHR

Oskar Pytka, a new intern at the European Foundation of Human Rights (EFHR), is currently a full-time student at Coventry University in England. Living outside the borders of the homeland gives him the confidence needed to seek further international cooperation and opportunities for internships.

Oskar uses his current knowledge and skills as a volunteer in one of the Citizens Advice Bureaus providing free, confidential information and advice, helping people with financial, legal, consumer and other problems. His interests include international law and the European Union, and he is also interested in human rights and national minorities in the world.

Internship at EFHR as he underlined is a unique opportunity for him to broaden knowledge in the field of human rights by contact with the problems faced by national and ethnic minorities in Lithuania. For the young law student, it is necessary to develop a broad perspective on the world and awareness of the diversity of problems faced by people from different countries and cultures. Internship at EFHR are undoubtedly an important step in this direction, deepening intercultural awareness.

Oskar loves to make new friends and exchange opinions on various topics as well as share his experiences from other countries. He is positively oriented to life and curious about the world. He has a lot of passion, from traveling through learning new languages (currently he speaks English, Polish and knows the basics of the German language) to getting to know the customs of different countries around the world.

When asked why he chose this direction, he answers: A lot of work and determination, dedication and sacrifice, and also certain predispositions, require a path to success. Not everyone can be a solicitor, barrister or judge or prosecutor.

Matters in law are not his only interests. He also devotes his free time to other passions. He has been fascinated by traveling for many years, he has visited various corners of the world from an early age. During such trips, he always tried to get to know the culture of this place and reach the truth of the people living in this region. In particular, he is interested in cultural events and various sports activities. In his leisure time, he loves to spend time in the circle of close friends and family.
