EFHR to celebrate European Action Week Against Racism

To celebrate European Action Week Against Racism (which is taking place between 12-21 March) the European Foundation of Human Rights (EFHR) is organizing a day of events on Saturday 12th March in Vilnius.

Our EVS volunteers – Aneta and Leah – are planning to hold two events over the course of the day and night to show their support for the European-wide UNITED initiative that aims to tackle racism and discrimination.

This year the theme of the campaign is ‘Strength in Diversity’, which links to the project our EVS volunteers are taking part in – ‘Promote diversity, promote human rights’.

During the day everybody is invited to visit our Multicultural Meet-up, an international fair at the Vilnius City Municipality Youth Information Centre (Konstitucijos pr. 3, Vilnius).

This day event will provide a unique opportunity to taste dishes from various countries (like France, Spain, Armenia..), learn interesting facts about other countries and cultures and participate in activities, quizzes and workshops related to the topic of multiculturalism. You will also get the chance to do out-of-the-ordinary things like become familiar with traditional Armenian songs and dances, learn the basics of Croatian, and try your hand at playing the ukulele. The day promises to be full of fun!

In the night we invite you to join us for another event, this time a concert at city night-spot Paviljonas where EVS volunteers/musicians will get together to play music against racism.

We invite everybody to come to our events so that we can stand UNITED against all forms of racism!
