A petition of the European Foundation of Human Rights
A petition of the European Foundation of Human Rights, reference number 1008/2011, against gathering and processing of data revealing ethnic origin by the Republic of Lithuania, as well as issues raised in it were considered admissible according to the Rules of the European Parliament. That is why the Commission of Petitions initiated its consideration. Below, you can find the text of the above mentioned petition and the response of the chairman of the Commission of Petitions. We are waiting for further information from Brussels.

Dear Madam,
I would like to inform you that the Commission of Petitions has considered your petition and decided that the issues raised in it were considered admissible according to the Rules of the European Parliament, because the subject of the petition falls within the scope of activities of the European Union.
The Commission of Petitions has initiated consideration of your petition and decided to turn to the European Commission for initial investigation of various aspects of the presented problem. The Commission of Petitions will resume consideration of the petition immediately after obtaining the necessary information.
At the right time, you will be informed about all further actions undertaken on this issue.
