EFHR Trainee has won the Jonowicz Brothers Contest „My place – Vilnius”

Krzysztof Adam Górski, trainee of the European Foundation of the Human Rights has won the Jonowicz Brothers Contest  „My place – Vilnius. The generation  talks, which aim was to present Vilnius in many kinds of conversations from the perspective people whose ties with the city are strong. To become a participant of the competition all applicants were obliged to submit a literary paper, in audio or video format – performing a testimony of human memory. Each volunteer could take  part in the competition, without regard for age or literary output – only the idea and a literary bent mattered. There has been submitted a lots of papers from Poland, Lithuania and Germany of which a few the best ones  ones have been prized.

The video paper  of our trainee proved to be the best and Mr. Górski won the prize in amount of 4000 Polish zlotys. The comptetion has been initiated by Mr. Maciej Zarębski and Mr. Tomasz Ulatowski. The main purpose of the contest was to make a tribute to the memory of two unusual Poles brought up in Lithuania Leon and Jan Janowicz.

It was hard to make a choice. We’ve got lots of interesting conversations, interviews and memories. We were  brought into strong emotions. We have chosen these which present in possibly the best way the idea of the contest, in other words, to introduce the cose to heart Vilnius in a few kinds of conversations. – said the Chairman of the Jury Maria Kowalska-Janowicz, Jan Janowicz’s widow.

This is just another competition success of our trainee; he had succeeded in the Literature and Polish Language Olimpics (with a distintinction), the competition  „Europe for everyday” – (organised by the European Foundation of Human Rights and has won the 1st prize), and won the 2nd  prize in the Recitation Contest „Kresy 2011” as well. Mr. Krzysztof Adam Górski  is also about to represent the Foundation in the prestigious training organised in the frames of the  European project „Youth in Action” by the association „Alinhas”.
