EFHR conducted training for teachers on the ‘Social studies education at schools

szkolenie_wosThe trainings on the topic of social studies education were held at the European Foundation of Human Rights office (EFHR), this year between the 25th and 26th of September. The trainings were organized as a part of the third edition of a project ‘Europeans, Poles, Citizens’. More information about this year’s edition of the project can be found here.

The seminar conducted by Dr. Renata Runiewicz-Jasińska was attended by 15 teachers from 12 schools in Vilnius and Vilnius Local District.

During the course of 12 hours training the topics discussed included inter alia general ideological aspects on the subject of social studies in the European Union. The discussions also concerned the question on how to efficiently pass the knowledge within 45 minutes, how to begin and conclude a class as well as how to encourage active participation of students. The teachers also took part in practical activities – while working in groups they prepared their proposals on how to conduct lessons at schools. All trainees received certificates confirming their participation.

EFHR would like to kindly thank everyone for their presence and engagement. We are delighted to receive positive feedback in the evaluation questionnaires. We also invite everyone to follow further information regarding trainings and we also encourage sending us ideas for seminars and workshops.
