Meet our new Volunteer, Anna Maria Nowak!

Anna Maria Nowak is a student and human rights advocate, involved in the protection and promotion of justice and equality. After completing master’s degree in Criminology in her home country of Poland, she decided to further the education by participating in an Erasmus + program in International Law at the KU Leuven University in Belgium. Currently, she is working towards her second master’s degree in Law and Sustainable Development at the University of Milan.

In the European Foundation of Human Rights, she is doing her intracurricular internship. She is committed to learning about the legal aspects of sustainable development and how to use the law to create positive change for future generations. Her main interest is European law, namely the human rights protection and immigration policies, hence she chose to specialise her degree in Human Rights and Social Development. Her passion motivated her to work as an intern in the prosecutor office as well as participate in lectures and programmes with the purpose of raising human rights awareness among the students, she also volunteered in actions, which aimed at supporting Ukrainian refugees in Italy. Her hobbies are music, travelling and playing board games.
