The handbook

We cordially invite Polish school teachers and experts who want to write or participate in the formation of extra-curricular activities handbook for Civic Education for middle school students from Polish schools in Lithuania. From our proposals together we will choose the topics that in your opinion must be found in our textbook. We want the pupils to reach for the handbook with pleasure and be curious about what will happen on its next pages. We are looking forward to hearing your opinions, observations, comments – they are all very important to us, so that it can best serve you and your students.

The handbook will be available to everyone FREE OF CHARGE and under a free license. This means that teachers will be able to edit, customize and improve it without violating the copyright. It will contain lesson plans, interesting ideas for discussions and tasks to perform. But for it to be created we need Your help.

If you are interested please fill in the survey at: www.efhr.eu or contact us at: wos@efhr.eu. Those who’ve done it are invited to a meeting that will take place on 29th September (details for those who declare their willingness to participate in the meeting will be given later). The number of seats is limited.

To teach in Polish in Lithuania is not easy – everyone who has ever tried it knows this. We want to help you. We, that is the Modern Poland Foundation ( an educational institution operating in Poland that specializes in creating and sharing innovative teaching materials) and the European Foundation of Human Rights (a public benefit organization whose purpose is to protect human rights and the rights of national minorities in Lithuania).

More information about the project.

The task carried out within the framework of tasks in the care of Polish diaspora and Poles abroad in 2011 commissioned by the Senate Office.
