New trainee of the EFHR

Konrad Oleszczuk is a University of Warsaw graduate student with a M.A. in Law and a B.A in Liberal Arts. He has also participated in student exchange programmes at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and Indiana University in Bloomington, USA. Moreover, he has graduated from a one-year programme of American Law co-organized by the University of Warsaw and the University of Florida.

Konrad has gained professional legal experience by giving legal advice to disadvantaged people at the Citizens Advice Bureau and to asylum-seekers within a legal clinic. He has also interned in many organizations and institutions like the Human Rights Defender’s Office, the Polish Embassy to Georgia, the Centre for Citizenship Education and in numerous law firms. He has also volunteered at the charitable organization Emmaüs Lescar-Pau in France.

His interests to focus mainly on European Union Law, civil rights and ADR. Being the author of a few papers, he has taken part in conferences concerning International Law. In his spare time he enjoys reading, learning foreign languages and meeting up with friends.

Konrad joined the European Foundation of Human Rights’ (EFHR) team because he believes that offering legal advice and increasing awareness of human rights is crucial for social development. He also feels that EFHR is one of the leading organizations in Lithuania in this field. He would like to increase his knowledge of the rights of national minorities and anti-discrimination laws as well as to read up on the situation of the Polish minority in Lithuania. He hopes to participate in interesting and inspiring projects within an international context at the Foundation. Konrad is a trainee within the Eramus+ programme and will work for EFHR for the next two months.
