EFHR brings Christmas presents to the Orphanage in Podbrodzie

Untitled-1Last Thursday, a team of people was sent by the European Foundation for Human Rights to deliver Christmas gifts to the wards of the Orphanage in Podbrodzie. The headmaster was also given educational materials related with human rights, designed for the youngest pupils as well as for the teenagers, with a special focus on the rights of children.

The rights of children occupy an exceptional place in the field of human rights. For children, then, having their rights secured has a great impact on their personal development and realization of their plans and dreams. While talking to the workers, Deputy Manager, Irena Fiszer paid a particular attention on the significance of making children aware of their basic rights. It is especially important in a situation in which the institution must cope with financial and administrative barriers, as well as the lack of family warmth.

pobrode2We hope that during this unique holiday time the children obtained some part of it and happiness typical of an ordinary home, which allowed them to forget about the everyday problems at least for a while. Taking the great amount of needs, the Foundation plans on organizing similar charity events.

The Foundation encourages everyone to financially support the Orphanage in Podbrodzie. You can make your donations by using the following account number: Pabradės vaikų globos namai, LT884010043200006682.
