EFHR Training Session: “Implementation of International Law”

The training was led by Professor Ireneusz Cezary Kamiński, lawyer, sociologist, university lecturer at Jagiellonian University and from July 2014 an ad hoc judge for the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg (ECtHR). Professor Kamiński is also the author of seven books and almost 200 scientific publications as well as being an expert for the Council of Europe on freedom of speech and the media.

The training was held for those interested in the topic of human rights and international law. EFHR especially encouraged anyone working within the legal field on a daily basis, including lawyers, attorneys, prosecutors, judges, employees and law students to attend.

The main topics of the course were: how to bring a case before the ECtHR, the most significant and recent changes to that topic and the basic rules of interaction between national law and the legal system where international security is concerned. Also discussed was theory on using international tools in minority legal protection and putting this into practice.

A second training day will take place on 25 November 2015. This course will be led by internationally-renowned legal expert Fernand de Varennes PhD.
