New EFHR trainee
Gabrielė Račaitytė is a third year student at Vilnius University Institute of International Relations and Political Science (VU TSPMI). Originally from Kaunas, Gabrielė moved to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, following graduation to study Political Science.
As travelling is one of Gabriele’s major passions she is always looking for new opportunities to see as much of the world as possible. Recently, she had the chance to participate in an Erasmus + project in Lyons, France. To live in one of the biggest cities in France was an amazing experience – and not only because of the beautiful surroundings. The atmosphere of this big city provided a new perspective on multiculturalism and developed a sense of tolerance and awareness. As France made such a good first impression Gabrielė hopes to continue her studies in Strasbourg.
Since the start of her studies in Vilnius Gabrielė has spent her summers in the USA. Having the possibility to change her surroundings frequently has strengthened Gabrielė’s position in promoting the importance of multiculturalism. She is truly happy to have the opportunity to put her ideas into practice while working as a trainee at the European Foundation of Human Rights. Gabrielė believes that this is the time to spread awareness about the importance of human rights in Lithuania, especially given the issues the country is facing today.
One of Gabrielė’s biggest passions is urban and city photography. She also greatly enjoys cultural and sporting activities.
