EFHR invites you to attend our training course on “International and EU law implementation in cases of discrimination in Lithuania”

The European Foundation of Human Rights (EFHR), providing free legal assistance in cases related to discrimination of human rights, would like to invite you to attend a training session introducing “International and EU law implementation in discrimination cases in Lithuania”. The session, which is completely free, will be held on Wednesday 29th of June 2016.

The training day will be led by legal assistant Evelina Baliko, who holds discrimination training sessions for business representatives and represents EFHR at international conferences. Evelina is especially interested in discrimination cases concerning the original spelling of names and surnames.

Therefore Evelina  represents families, litigating because of original spelling of personal names in cases of discrimination.

During the training course – which will be held in both English and Lithuanian – we will cover the following:

  1. International and EU law’s role in the Lithuanian legal system;
  2. The European Court of Human Rights, EU Court of Justice and United Nations Human Rights Committee decisions in discrimination cases;
  3. The European Court of Human Rights, EU Court of Justice and United Nations Human Rights Committee decisions in matters of privacy protection;
  4. Practical application of international law and applying its mechanisms in Lithuania.

The training course is intended for anyone interested in the topic of human rights. We would especially like to invite those who work within the legal field on a daily basis, such as lawyers, attorneys, prosecutors, judges, legal firm employees and students. Every participant will receive a certificate of attendance.

EFHR has organized a number of training courses over the years which have been hosted by highly-respected specialists in the field of international law. Our courses have proved hugely popular. Find information about previous training sessions here.

The session will be held at the SMK (College of Social Sciences): Kalvarijų st. 137E, Vilnius, 203 auditorium. It will begin at 9am and finish at 4pm.

You can sign up to attend until 28th of June via email: mokymai@efhr.eu or use our online registration form. Obtain more information by calling: +370 691 50 822. Please, be aware that there are a limited number of places available.

We look forward to seeing you there!
