International Brain Battle for The European Week Against Racism
This year the European Foundation of Human Rights, together with ESN Vilnius University and “No labels” organized an international quiz as part of the European Week Against Racism to make a public stand against racism and in support of a society characterized by respect for human dignity. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of racist and discriminatory mindsets and behaviour, and to find strategies for overcoming them.
On Thursday, 21st of March over 35 people of the international community in Vilnius came together at Vaga bookstore to reunite in a fun and interactive brain battle in teams of four and learn more about racism and discrimination as violation of Human Rights in contemporary society, but also intercultural dialogue and diverse societies in Europe. The event started with a short introduction of EFHR and the forms and consequences of racist behaviour, followed five lively quiz rounds, where the contestants demonstrated their knowledge on topics such as racism, geography and history, world’s culture, art and music as well as the political past. The winning team can look forward to a day at “Vichy” aqua park, while 2nd and 3rd places will spend their evening rock-climbing and at the movies.
EFHR would like to thank our partners ESN Vilnius University and “No labels”, as well as our wonderful host Vaga bookstore and everyone who participated!
