EFHR Joins ESN International Fair

EFHR Joins ESN International Fair

On 3rd September, the European Foundation of Human Rights (EFHR) marked its presence at the International Fair during Orientation Week Autumn 2019 held by the European Student Network (ESN) at the Vilnius University. In a full hall of students, the vivid international community shared snacks and drinks from their countries to introduce their cultures to other fellow students.

With a number of other organisations offering insights about their work in Vilnius, two EFHR trainees, Thays Moreira and Marta Bednarczyk, shared their own experiences with the fair participants.

“The interesting part was the involvement of the students,” says Thays. Some came to ask about the principals of EFHR’s work and opportunities to get involved, while others shared stories from their own countries of origin. “It is always good to hear the youth’s opinions and to experience that they want to do more in the field of human rights. As for the topic of hate crime and hate speech, we were able to tell the international students that, if they face anything that harms them in any way, they are not alone and they can seek help within our organisation,” says Thays.

EFHR would like to thank the organisers of the event for the invitation, as well aseveryone who participated.
