EFHR welcomes a new intern from italy: Rebecca

Rebecca Venuto is a new Italian trainee that will be welcomed at the EFHR from the beginning of September to the end of December. She is recently graduated in International and Diplomatic Science at University of Trieste in Italy and she is going to pursue her postgraduate studies in International Law and Human Rights in Nederland.

She imagines her career in this field and since her bachelor gave to her a general background in political affairs, economics and law, she has chosen this internship to broaden her knowledge on minority rights law and to develop important instruments to contrast any kind of discrimination, especially on social media. Moreover, thanks to different activities and trainings organised by the EFHR, she will get the opportunity to perfect her inter-personal skills and to get in touch with local people.  

She has involved in many volunteering activities, for example with the local section of Unicef in Gorizia (Italy) and at the Refugees’ centre in Brussels. Her previously internship with the Territorial Commission for Recognition of International protection (CTRPI) in Italy has made her aware of strengths and weaknesses of the international protection legislation.

Passionate in discovering foreign countries, she loves to immerse herself in another culture through numerous channels, such history, literature, music and politics. She also spent one year abroad under Erasmus+ programme at University of Bordeaux in France and that has definitely widened her horizons and nourished her willing to travel.
