EFHR on the International Festival of Contemporary Dance

EFHR on the International Festival of Contemporary Dance

DSCF2732On July 6th in Šalčininkai there was the first International Festival of Contemporary Dance. The European Foundation of Human Rights (EFHR) organised a trip to the park in Šalčininkai, in order to celebrate the event and make the citizens of Šalčininkai acquainted with the Foundation’s work. The tent attracted many people, among whom there were both citizens of the city and guests, participating in the event.

As always, the EFHR has provided the visitors with free informational materials (brochures, leaflets, gadgets etc.), which were very popular among the passers-by. Those who needed it, had the opportunity to consult the Foundation’s lawyers.

A few international guests also became interested in the Foundation’s stand, which resulted in a discussion about EFHR’s activity and human rights in Lithuania and in Europe. The Foundation’s employees talked about EFHR’s activity, the forms of help, legal cases won as well as cooperation with other foundations concerned with human rights. The guests had the opportunity to compare EFHR’s activity with similar organisations dealing with human rights that operate in other countries.

The EFHR was encouraging all the people present to become interested in the rights that result from being a member of the EU, in the human rights and in the Foundation’s activity in these domains, using the www.efhr.eu website. Those who are interested in it can find there valuable information about human rights and about the structure of the EU and its institutions. The group, which was interested in these topics most, was the youth.

The EFHR is glad to see the enthusiasm of the citizens and the initiative of people participating in the event.
