EFHR celebrated the Polish Army Holiday in Miedniki

EFHR celebrated the Polish Army Holiday in Miedniki

DSC05275On 17th July 2014, representatives of the European Foundation of Human Rights (EFHR) took part in the celebrations of the Polish Army Holiday in the Vilnius Region, entitled ”Oddysey of a Polish Soldier”, and held in Miedniki.

During the celebrations, not only did EFHR have the opportunity to watch a performance  prepared by  the Vilnius Theatrical Study and taste some field-kitchen specialties,  but we also had the chance to disseminate knowledge on human rights via the distribution of leaflets and publications addressed both to children and adults. All the guests eagerly took advantage of the free-of-charge legal aid and were interested in particular spheres of the Foundation’s activity.

Educational materials, i.e.  the textbook ”Poles, Europeans, Citizens”, designed especially at the Council of Europe’s request, Polish and Lithuanian versions of  the Council of Europe’s educational brochure ”Rights and Freedoms in practice” (which perfectly illustrates the European Convention on Human Rights and also illustrates how the European Court of Human Rights functions) were promptly disappearing from the EFHR’s stand. Younger participants and their parents were mostly interested in brochures entitled ”47 countries and one organization..the Council of Europe” and ”Get to know Europe”, both dedicated to children, which indicates the growing interest and the subsequent urge for access to such publications.

We are glad that many people visiting our tent claimed to be following our victories in the media and, moreover, they positively assessed our overall performance.

All people seeking to receive free-of-charge legal advice or cooperate with EFHR are kindly invited to contact us.
