EFHR welcomes new trainee

EFHR’s new trainee Sebastian Stein is a fifth year Law student at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany. Currently, he is completing two semesters abroad at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius. His specialization areas, along with human rights, are International Public Law, particularly the Law of the European Union and Environmental Law.

Sebastian is from Stuttgart, Germany. His interest in human rights was sparked during his studies at the Universities of Konstanz and Tübingen. Since the beginning of 2014, he has been volunteering with Amnesty International, being especially concerned with refugee and asylum issues and the related legal questions. Leading the refugee work group, he had the chance to organize events, pickets and other public events concerning human rights.

During his first semester at Mykolas Romeris University, some of his colleagues who had already cooperated with EFHR, told Sebastian about the foundation and its work. From his traineeship, he wishes to acquire knowledge about minority rights directly from the source, as well as gaining an insight into the actual legal work of lawyers working within the field of human rights.

Apart from studying and volunteering, Sebastian is obsessed with creating music and writing, as well as with travelling. He is writing a blog about his time abroad in Lithuania.
