On April 16th a proposal came to the Lithuanian Seimas to organise a referendum about the issue of double citizenship along with the presidential election in 2014. The Europe Day is an annual celebration observed on 9 of May. To celebrate it the European Foundation of Human Rights organized again a trip to the Vilnius Center (Lukiŝkių Square). The Foundation tent was an attraction for many passers-by, tourists, and even hurrying to their offices the Vilnius residents. EFHR, as always, made available the information for free: booklets, leaflets, gadgets, fluorescent stickers etc., which immediately became very popular among the passers-by. Every year on the 9th of May we celebrate Europe Day. And this year was no exception. The European Foundation of Human Rights (EFHR) organized a trip to Vilnius city centre (Łuskiski plac), in order to celebrate this day. We set up a stall, which attracted the attention of many passersby, including tourists and Vilnius citizens on their way to work. In relation to the report from July 2012 about preparation to parliamentary elections in Lithuania, on January 3rd 2013 OSCE published a comprehensive report on the course of the voting itself, which took place in October 2012. The aim of the report was to present suggestions which could be used by Lithuanian authorities in future in order to improve the electoral process in Lithuania. The decision of the Equal Treatment Controller’s Service (ETCS) is contradictory to its aims and tasks. Therefore, in an obvious way, it has violated its competence. This is what results from the decision of the District Administrative Court in Vilnius, taken on May 6th 2013.
